Introduction
In 2006 there was no Litchfield Middle School Cross Country Team, but Victoria Quarton still managed to have a lot of fun running as an individual. Here's how she did it. After track in the spring Victoria continued to run about four to six days a week, running just a few miles each time. This helped her keep in shape and increase her endurance. After the season started Quarton was coached by Coach Brian Lee, Coach Dan Barclay and her dad. She ran six days a week during the season and ran at four invitationals. She improved with each race. Her best time was 12:37, when she place forth at the Jacksonville Invitational. At the Franklin Sectional Meet she placed seventh and advanced to the Girls Class A State Cross Country Meet in Normal, IL. At State the successful season closed with a 41st place finish out of a field of 178 of the states top runners.
